More and more birthparents are open to placing their child with LGBT families. Furthermore, some birthparents specifically ask to place with an LGBT family.
As an LGBT family, keep in mind that there may be differences in your adoption experience when compared to that of a heterosexual family. This could be due to a multitude of reasons, including laws unique to your location and finding a birthmother who is looking for a same-sex couple or single. But more and more LGBT people are adopting children who need a loving home, and you could be one of them.
As an LGBT-friendly adoption service provider, we will guide you through the adoption process with understanding, sensitivity, and reliability. Our philosophy is based on one-on-one support during this fragile time, and our experienced, knowledgeable staff will do all they can to make it as easy as possible for you.

LGBT ADOPTION FAQS
-
What sort of birthparents choose lgbt families?
All types! The reasons birthparents have for choosing an adoptive family are personal and specific. Birthparents may have a direct connection with the LGBT community, or they may have none at all. The only thing we can say for sure is that a great many birthparents are open to placing their baby with a wonderful LGBT family like yours.
-
How should an lgbt family present themselves in their adoption profiles?
The answer to this question is the same for all of our prospective adoptive families: present yourself authentically. Show the types of relationships you have with your spouse, partner, and/or family members, and your community. One of the most important things to a birthparent is that the family is loving, caring, and genuine. Another thing to think about is your profile photos. This is the first thing a birthmother will see and first impressions go a long way, so make them count!
-
Does it take longer for same-sex couples to adopt than traditional couples?
LGBT prospective adoptive parents often feel like they will have a harder time adopting than their heterosexual counterparts. This is not necessarily true. More and more birthparents are choosing to place their children with same-sex couples, thus giving gay and lesbian adoptive parents an advantage, and making the process quicker.
